New Logo for Bank Zarechye
Bank Zarechye traces its origin to the Kirov Office of the Gosbank (Central Bank) established in 1940. Admiralty Sloboda has always been a large industrial center of Kazan. It was here where Powder Factory erected as far back as by the edict of Catherine II, Alafuzov Textile Factories, and other old enterprises of Zarechye (the Russian for “the area across the river”) grew and developed. They became the main customers of the bank.
In 1990, the bank became commercial and took on its official name of “Zarechye”. The windows of its first building faced the memorial arch constructed to commemorate the centenary of the powder factory in 1888, which became the symbol of the entire industrial area in one hundred more years. The arch became the identification mark of the bank.
We updated the bank’s logo in 2016.
We started with analyzing the bank’s visual identification. The bank turned out to use 3 logos with different types, such as antique, slab serif, and grotesque. That was “dirty”. Experimenting with the arch detailing, we chose the best option in terms of detailing and brand awareness. We also upgraded colors and types. The logo became brighter and more modern.
