"Urban Classics" is a project that celebrates the classics of sneakers. It's an ode to the Urban culture that tends to outline the intemporal design of those pieces of wardrobes, and their dimension as pieces of art.
The Process
The Urban Classics series consists in vector drawings made exclusively in photoshop. A photography is used to create the first drawing. Then the main outline is added. I improve the number of details by adding the logos & the laces, and then do some color painting/gradient to get this very organic aspect.
I then take care of the lights and shadows, drawing some geometric shapes and white lines for the lights, and using fading brushes and larger geometric shapes for the shadows.
The design is finalized with a stylized logo background (using scripts or drawn with brushes) + some adjustment layers.
