Branding Egyptian textile products- “Khoyoot Aseela”

The aim of this project is to know how to raise the awareness of Egyptians regarding branding textile products produced by vocational institutions. It is aiming also to know the facts that may enhance the Egyptians brand performance, and how to market for the Egyptian textile products. The target group for this project is middle, upper B and A class Egyptians who are ageing from 16 till above 60, and especially creative ones who are passionate about fashion and handmade products. The expected outcome is to design mobile application (app) to be the platform of the brand for customers to order the clothes from it. This app will have several features which will suit different types of people who have different interests, and they will receive their purchased products in hand-made packaging.
Logo
The word “Khoyoot” means threads which refers to the outcome of the project which is selling clothes that consists of threads. It also has another meaning that is aimed for, which is the threads that connects Egyptians together, and which also connects each of the suppliers, producer and customer. The word “Aseela” means genuine, original and sincere which refers also to the identity and history of Egypt. The proposed logo was designed to combine different Egyptian features, beliefs and symbols together. It consists of the sun which represents the Ancient Egyptian, the cross which represents coptic art and the crescent which represents islamic art. I combined them together in order to show unity and because the design inspiration for the project and the patterns that will be used in the clothes produced will also contain these elements.

Here is a video that demonstrates the steps of creating a multi-colored pattern on a T-shirt that you can do at home.
After searching for several techniques for printing/ painting on cloth, I’ve found that stenciling and screen printing are the most convenient techniques to produce a certain design you want. I wanted to mix and match between the 2 techniques in order to produce a printed design on cloth that is done at home with few tools needed and with easy instructions as well.
