Practice #2
Series: Pencil
Loudspeaker Design for Bang & Olufsen

For a long time, the pencil played an important role in human creative activities.

Music was started from drawing notes on a manuscript paper,
Painting was started from sketches,
Literature was started by filling a paper with hand.

The pencil has been as a flint for a long time to fire of creation, but now it has given its role to digital devices like computers. It is no longer possible to find people who draw notes, sketch on paper, write with hand. The pencil is about to retire.

Of the stage of art, from creation to appreciation, I wanted to make a link between the things at the very end of the stage and the things at the very beginning. This is an homage to the pencil for igniting numerous arts through the centuries.

The first work is the thing for listening to music; a loudspeaker. It was inspired by the shape of a knife-cutted pencil, which narrowed gently from the hexagon and changed to another shape.
