The Giant Sushi Lover (Point of View/Funny)

For this visual, the position of the camera in the scene above is that of a bird's eye view, or in this humorous take, that of a giant overpowering the scene. This shot was taken from the top of an escalator looking down at an eatery. This angle provides an establishing shot of the scene, but also puts the viewer in a superior position, as a threatening presence or an intimidating force. The focus remains on the subjects below while the fingers are out of focus, leaving a sense of dread of an upcoming event. The viewer may also have a sense of vertigo as the eye travels down a long distance. The giant fingers attempting to grab a sushi off the conveyor belt adds a funny element but also foreshadows a scene of panic when the diners realize this higher presence is invading their protected space.

This perspective gives the impression of miniature figures living in the land of a giant. The subjects are short and squat. The viewer is left with a strong sense of the space with a wider perspective from the top and smaller at the bottom. An easy challenge to overcome was keeping one hand on the camera with the exact focus while my other hand intruded the screen.
