Reality - Traditional Work

Reality - Traditional artwork from my undergraduate senior exhibit, Perspectiva Femenina (Feminine Perspective). Influenced by music and the political climate, I chose to focus my work on the emotional toll women may have after experiencing abuse or assault. I used my own visual metaphors and symbols to depict these emotions through the use of a pink mold, which is a manifestation of all that is unhealthy and negative in the world. I also used the symbol of a bathtub, which I would describe as the safe place. It's where thoughts of the day are collected, when all that has happened is washed away to begin anew.
