SAIC VOLKSWAGEN, a Sino-German joint venture, is one of the oldest automotive joint ventures in China. The new corporate identity reflects the new corporate vision and raises awareness of the two brands at the heart of the company’s operations – Volkswagen and Skoda. It also better represents the joint venture’s status and standing in the business community and for internal employee engagement.
The central idea at the heart of the new identity was the unity of “Faster, Stronger, Higher”. With a graphic “arrow” pattern, the new design cleverly draws on the Chinese character “人” (people), which is a part of “众” (crowds of people), a pivotal character in the joint venture’s Chinese name. The new identity speaks to the company’s perpetual and sustainable forward movement whilst remaining dedicated to the needs of people and society.
