East coast road, the route from Chennai to Pondicherry is definitely one of the most beautiful drives with the breathtaking view of the Bay of Bengal on the side!
Pondi is a mix of Tamil & French cultures. One can drift through the streets of Whitetown, grab a freshly baked Pain au chocolat or Croissant and head for some authentic Vazhaipoo Vadai for lunch!
Visiting the Hidesign factory was definitely the highlight of my trip, followed by local south Indian cuisine at Surguru. Highly recommended if you're on a shoe string budget yet want to relish a wholesome meal!
Sadly, couldn't visit Matrimandir from the inside. It was shut for some renovation work. This definitely calls for a Trip no.2 to Auroville! :)
