The core gameplay relies on tapping on the left/right of the screen you want the character to jump to. The player has to keep an eye out for the platforms. The stone one will fall after a couple of seconds, while the spike one will toggle on and off. It's all about careful timing.
Each character has its unique look. They make different sounds when jumping and when they fall to their demise. This added more personality to each character, making players relate more to their favorite ones.
The game has over 12 characters to unlock. The idea behind each design was to draw upon well-known figures.
If you play at night, the environment and enemy behavior will change. I wanted the game to be more comfortable when playing at night. Since it was nighttime, it made sense for some enemies to be sleeping.
TOPOKO

Overview
Topoko is an arcade-like bottom-up runner. You play as the cutesy Topokos as they try to escape the evil flybots.

The game started as a simple side project that revolved around jumping on platforms within a given time limit. I felt the concept could become interesting with some refinement.
I wanted the Topoko to be relatable. So people liked the characters themselves.

The core design of the game didn't change throughout the project. Whenever I started straying far from it, I would head back.

Tasks- Implemented enemy behavior
- Built system to generate level
- Used scriptable objects to organize the different topokos
- Managed freelance artists by setting schedules and having weekly meetings
