Ultimate Fortune
Gaming Website's Back Office User Interface Redesign
Project: I was subcontracted to redesign the user interface for a back office web application of a gaming website called Ultimate Fortune.
Project Descrption: The online back office for a gaming website was being developed for the stakeholders/product owners so that they can login as admins and see the details of the scores, account balances and active members statuses of all gamers. Admin(s) most be able to login, navigate through the back office, make changes to member accounts, change member status, issue refunds, add and delete accounts, and more. Website users/gamers used bitcoins for the money transactions for the games they played.
The back-end code and functionality was mostly complete, but the user interface and user experience was pretty bare-bones and needed UI/UX design and development. The web application was built in AngularJS 1.5 by developers before I was brought into the project. It was build on Linux/Ubuntu platform and version control repository was managed and pushed to GitHub.
The Solution: I was subcontracted by one of the developers to design the UI for the website's back office web application, although the home/bankroll page was of most importance at the time. I gathered information about the product, performed research on common back office design trends, produced lo-fi wireframes with pen and paper sketches, created mockups in Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign, and built interactive prototypes in AxureRP. I used HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and BootStrap classes to apply a toggle button and accordion menu to the main page but another web developer took over that role.
