The project was designed as a mapping and analysis exercise, which is why the conclusion is not an architectural form, but a summary ready for the trigger of an architectural intervention. It involved mapping of exposure and street lighting to create a datascape. Both sets of data were combined with an algorithm to allow a single stream of information which worked along a colour scale of high exposure and low lighting (red) to low exposure and high lighting (blue). The data provided a basis to map ASB crimes, with the aim of concluding that the governments assumption that higher street lighting levels actively reduce levels in anti-social behaviour is incorrect. This is achieved by displaying higher levels of ASB in areas of Blue and Yellow, than in areas of Red. Read Less
