Studio Arkitekter // Lakeshore Loft
The flat was developed in an old lakeshore industrial building that was transformed into an apartment house.
When we started this project, the only thing we had was the layout, the walls were standing, but the doors and windows were missing.
The main objective was to establish a practical, functional interior which suits the needs of a family but also adjusts to the former build up and abilities. The inner design also had to get along with the outer appearance of the building and its industrial past.
We were striving to use modern and energetically conscious solutions without changing the requested style throughout the project.
Stay bright, spacious, cosy, and use machines. These were the main guidelines.
The fact that the apartment received a masculine identity is not a coincidence.
The diverse range of textiles, coatings, large paintings, private objects and books played a huge role in setting up a cosy, home-like atmosphere.
Most of the furniture are custom made, designed, engineered and produced by us.
During the design process one of the most important aspects was to avoid un-functional design.
Modern, fresh, up to date, cosy, intelligent, elegant and masculine, just like our client. Just like we imagined.
The epitome of a successful collaboration between the design team and the owner.
