The Stairway School of English was founded in 1994 in Kraków, Poland. The school’s location is connected to the company’s name; the office is located in a high story building in the historical centre of the city – accessible
by a stairway. Stairway focuses on teaching authentic English at the highest level, all of Stairway’s teachers are native speakers from the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States.
The angles of the Union Jack – Britain’s national flag – are described by a flag specification diagram formulated by the British Flag Institute. The cross in the flag is a combination of the Cross of St. Andrew and the Cross of St. Patrick – at an angle of exactly 30.96°. The same angle is used in the logo.
