Lite - Mobile App

A personal project where I challenged myself to develop a photo editing app for e-commerce businesses. Enabling online sellers to photograph products and edit them in-app to produce professional saleable images in an instant.
Step 1: UX design
Intended to be for sellers wanting quick results on the fly and on a shoestring, the app needed to be simple to use, highly automated and with a short user journey.
User research - Exploring different user types and their needs in order to develop functionality map
Wireframes - Low fidelity through to high fidelity aimed at refining the functionality
Quick edit options - Enabling user to select how they want their photo
Simple navigation - Utilising back button and hamburger menu on all screens and a simple two function menu at the bottom
Next button - to guide users through edit process
Sidebar folder navigation - Image folders accessible in one click via gallery screen
Step 2: Brand Identity
The development of a brand that represented all elements of the business; photography, business, and creativity:
A neutral, deep color palette to communicate a tonne of corporate identity and trust.
Graphical, colored shapes converging intended to represent the various parts of the re-touch process; cropping, pixels and color tones
The logo incorporates a stack of photos to represent batch editing and ensures flexibility for use within varying contexts
Clean typography for a minimal, modern look
Photography underlays support the photography function
Step 3: UI Design
A minimal UI that supports the simple user experience and puts the images at front and centre of the app at all times
Minimal linear iconography to communicate editing options
Next arrow to enhance the feeling of progression and user flow during the editing process
Pop-up instructions to guide user through first edit process
Clean, minimal drop-downs that use shading to distinguish user selections
