RUGBY SPORTS CITY ("PEPE ROJO" FACILITIES-VALLADOLID)

The ring circulates around the existing, colonizes the space of the surroundings, unifies and differentiates places, and generates a perimeter path that gives hierarchy. This element offers a powerful image, a recognizable symbol for rugby and sport in general (it unifies disciplines and hobbies metaphorically). It is the protagonist of this project, but a main character needs an antagonist so that his role is even more significant: a linear element balances the whole project.
Protagonist and antagonist are placed in the same guidelines (at each end of the plot), but because of their geometry and their layout with respect to the fields, they have two opposite roles: Public VS Private , which correspond to two complementary worlds that feed the one from another:
- COMPETITION: originated by the ring, which surrounds the main field (of natural grass, currently reserved for the most important championships) and the second main field, separated by a double grandstand which is also maintained.
- TRAINING: around the residential building, being that two new fields are located in the same position as the existing ones, but this time they are separated by the building.
The public part of the program intended for any type of users will be in the ring. These activities require certain degrees of privacy, because there is a wide variety of uses. This privacy is achieved through the architecture itself (structural ribs).
The players residence corresponds to the linear building, which needs more privacy achieved through the geometry of the building itself and its location on the plot.
