Core Style Guide Refreshed for Gapchisnka Licensing Brand
GAPCHINSKA licensing brand based on the art of Eugenia Gapchinska exists since 2012 and is managed by Art Nation Copr.

Work with licensing brand goes under the following directions: core style guide, seasonal guides, thematic collections.

Feedback from licensees shows us that thematic collections are more popular and useful due to the limited number of related characters and highly detailed patterns.

Core Guide had been created in 2014 and therefore is currently considered out of date. Moreover, many of the created combinations diluted visual identity of the brand. The licensees created the diverse design of products rarely containing the Brand’s big idea while working within Guide’s framework.

On this background, we faced the task to create new core guide with simple and clear instructions, lots of examples and various iconic designs.

The work started with an update of the logo.
Next, we reduced the number of characters and grouped items into 6 themes: dames, kids, sweethearts, dreamers, heroes and life lovers. This approach enables our partners to create thematic product range easier.

Each theme consists of 6 related characters, bitmap and vector patterns and several bitmap and vector objects.
All rules in the guide are shown on simple visual examples:
According to the guidelines, we created dozens of relevant to brand audience iconic designs.
