Anishinaabeg Exhibit Presents Life and Art

The CEO of St. George Logistics in Kearny, New Jersey, Chris Jamroz also holds a position on the Board of Governors for the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). Chris Jamroz is proud to represent ROM, one of the largest museums of natural history and culture in the world.

ROM currently hosts a diverse selection of exhibits, including Anishinaabeg: Art & Power. The exhibit encourages museum guests to discover the life and traditions of the Anishinaabeg through the evolution of their art over the past two centuries.

The indigenous people call Ontario their homeland, but Anishinaabeg communities spread across the southern portion of Canada and the northernmost states of the US. Anishinaabeg art contains the sacred stories of their societies and depicts their vast knowledge and cultural traditions, including relationships between humans, ancestors, nature, and the spirit world.

Pieces on display in the exhibit include early art forms, beaded regalia, and paintings and drawings influenced by the Woodlands School art movement. Anishinaabeg: Art & Power opened in June and will be available to the public through November 19, 2017.
