Dorothy was right though...

I wanted to choose one project to run through from inception to final product and there were a few, some personal, some business. But I chose this project, code name: Dot2010... Actually, it was just called Palmetto Creek marketing card.
A certain amount of freedom and faith was bestowed upon me for this project (a refreshing and welcome change). The property Manager wanted to use a “No place like home” theme for Palmetto Creek but wasn’t sure how to portray that whimsy and advertise the property at the same time without coming off cheesy. The initial idea was to Photoshop some red shoes into an existing image, I felt a more hands-on approach was needed. I convinced my marketing director to go to the property with her red shoes and a camera and I’d take care of the rest. In writing that sounds bad, but I wasn't there when these pictures were taken.
What you see here is the result, I perhaps went a bit far with the OZ references and should anyone from the Emerald Kingdom come a knocking I could be in trouble. But I felt it needed a few more nods to the theme in case the red shoes weren’t obvious enough. But I think my favorite thing here is what I feel completes the campaign, the line “Dorothy was Right...” Is from the Arctic Monkeys song ‘Old Yellow Bricks’.
I enjoyed putting this together because it was a change from the norm for the company and believe it’s the rare nature of the project that made it extra special
