As part of my work at New Repertory Theatre, I've designed the initial brochure for our past three seasons. This year's spring brochure, as seen below, was a 5-panel barrel fold.
As the spring brochure is the first printed piece developed following the announcement of a new season, the promotional images which will ultimately work in tandem with each of the plays have not yet been designed, so I developed a bare-bones layout to showcase each play's title, credits, description, and a simple title treatment.
As this serves as a first glimpse at our season for returning patrons and, potentially, a first impression of the company for newcomers, the exterior places New Rep's mission front and center, while also including a mailer panel, a price chart, an order form, quotes from the press, and a letter from our artistic and managing directors.
Then, in the fall, we send an updated brochure which includes show images, as developed with our outside graphic designer. This brochure highlights A La Carte subscription options, so that it will be able to remain in use after the early shows have passed and full subscriptions are no longer available.
