This animation shows how I create these typesets. I start in Adobe Illustrator with an ordinary typeface that has "the right bones" and from this I develop a custom typeset that features a few distinct characteristics. After this, I move it into Adobe Photoshop and develop the textures/layers to present the typeset in a fashion that accents the firearms featured in the layout.
The imperfections and distress in the substrate can give a lovely vintage patina to your typesets.
The small adjustments to the letterforms give the piece character.
The eccentric firearms have been especially inspiring to work with.
Each typeset has it's own rhythm and visual language.
Always looking for a new way to flow typography.

I have found that an understated texture can go a long way in giving you a unique look.
