"Fashion and Technologie"

The crop top and the coat were designed during the project "Fashion and Technologie"
at the Köln International School of Design (KISD) in partnership with LISAA
(L'Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués
(Paris)).
The aim of this project was to combine classic fashion design with new technologies and (high tech) materials.
Our mixed group of three german students from KISD/Cologne and two students from LISAA/Paris created two pieces of gender neutral fashion, more likely to be some kind of unixes chlothing.
They were designed to reveal but also hide the naked skin and body without regarding the sexual characteristics of the person.
"THE SKIN"
The crop top is made of skin colored textured latex, translucent silikon and transperent bioplastics.
The pieces were cut in the laser cutter and have been attached to a collar made out of soft black calfskin.
The skinlike materials are flowting with the form of the body, repeating the patterns of cells and scars, questioning the need of wearing clothes when nothing is hidden by the cut and material.
"THE CAGE"
The coat is made out of thick neoprenlike fabric which is attached to a form giving skeleton made from aluminium ridges. The black stripes are hiding parts of the body while also forcing it into an uncomfortable position.
