Media Architecture is considered a rather novel phenomenon that interconnects media and architecture in many ways. Aim of our thesis is to offer a deeper understanding of what is Media Architecture and what are the main characteristics and concepts involved. The thesis’s research question was, therefore, “what are the core elements of Media Architecture?” To answer this question, we have collected main characteristics and concepts, mostly encountered in this field, based on different theoretical approaches. Combining these elements, we created a framework to conceptualise Media Architecture.
The thesis work is accompanied by a prototype web platform, which includes the project analysis in its visualized form. The site follows a basic structure that offers the user an overview of all the projects that have been analysed, based on the framework. Apart from the main visualization, the user can access each project individually and acquire basic information as well as the framework implementation on the specific project in the form of a star graph.
