The goal of this project was to conceptually create new methods of storytelling for USA TODAY that allowed for the programmatic use of easy to update/customizable types of storytelling cards. This concept called for short, easy to digest, swipable bits of news to be focused on one screen at a time. Animated background lines and color blocks would guide the user directionally through the story, engaging them with questions, inforgraphics and facts throughout the journey. Users would be able to choose their next at the end of each swipe experience, allowing USA TODAY to recirculate related or relevant content to their customers. Read Less

USA TODAY / Reimagining Storytelling
Visual, Interactive, Scalable + Engaging
Case Study: #OscarsSoWhite
Our goal was to explore new forms of storytelling within the USA TODAY NETWORK digital channels that incorporated unique interaction, multimedia assets, and information graphics visualization. This concept employed the use of animation to guide a reader through the storyline and engage them with videos, polls, data visualization and image galleries. With a simple color shift, this format could be applied across branded sections and subsidiary brands within the USA TODAY NETWORK.
