At the beginning of this summer, we were commissioned to paint a mural for a kid's room. The apartment was in its last finishing stages, and the architect had decided to create, for the room of the family's youngest, a dynamic, street style vibe. We found out why when we met our 10 year old client. Alex listens to Looptroop & Non FX, loves extreme sports, skates and plays basketball almost daily, and he was clearly not in for any of the kid's stuff we asked him about. We are positive we watch more cartoons than he does. With all that in mind, we started researching and sketching. Alex provided the lyrics that became the lettering pieces, and we constructed the rest of the visual with "urban outer space" in mind. Diana developed the concept and did the drawings, and Georgian was in charge of applying the two coats of chalkboard paint and doing the lettering. Here's the process.
