I was told, “walk the path and you will reach the water’s edge.”
As I started out, the path stretched out, bright and straight.
It was clear how the path would lead to the sea.
But as I continued, the path turned, in a way I did not expect.
Quickly my mind redrew the likely path.
But the path turned again and again; and each time my mind recalculated.
The path resisted all my predictions, going it’s own way.
Eventually, slowly, my mind opened to the wider world;  
and instead of focusing on my next step, I felt the Sun on my face and listened to the rustle of the leaves.
