       shadow tree   3'x5'
The Shadow Tree montage is a series of photographs taken over a 20 minute period one winter when sunsets are often infused with rich red and gold hues. A tree along a bike path created a glowing silhouette on a wall of the faculty club. After taking the first photo (center image), I noticed that the shadows of passing cyclists and pedestrians superimposed a series of fleeting moods on the relative stillness of the tree. I like to think about how transient the entire experience was/is, not just the setting sun and shadows but the objects casting those shadows and even the piece that resulted.

       Randy "MachoMan" Savage   11x15 / 11x13
This piece began as a documentation of a cutout pasted on an obscure side door of the campus main library. I later learned it was generated after an iconic publicity shot of WWF wrestler Randy “MachoMan” Savage. I included a sculptural component by re-purposing a beautifully engineered but obsolete piece of photograph equipment from the Department of Instructional Development (where I was employed) to frame a smaller photograph with a wider view providing context.
