This communication campaign was created for the Master in Architecture with specialization in Urbanism of the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon. The goal of the campaign was to attract new students and raise the number of applications.
After a detailed research on the topic, we created the concept "connect to cities, connect to people", materialized through needlework. Every letter was hand sewn and digital edited in order to create all the necessary words. Colors were picked based on urban plans and photos of the faculty were used as background.
Three actions were created for this campaign: a set of small sessions (informal presentations at high schools), a workshop, and a facebook campaign. A set of applications was created for each action.
Small Sessions demanded roll-ups and flyers. For the flyer, two interactive versions were developed. Both required the student to "sew" their path to higher education, including the most important moments of their teenage lives.
The workshop demanded a giant-sized board game, with the goal of building different structures in a city based on the limitations of entities such as the municipality, the shop owners of the inhabitants. Besides the game, we developed polo shirts (for players representing the different entities), a participation certificate, and merchandising to distribute among the participants.
For Facebook, we developed a set of campaigns aimed at showcasing the main advantages of studying Urbanism at FAUL, as well as helping high school students throughout the application process. We also developed an application called "connect to your name", where users could generate their names in hand sewn letters, and save or share the final result on different social media platforms.
