Typographic Posters: Musicians

---
In order to strengthen my portfolio with my graphic design style, I decided to create a side project of 5 posters where each one is associated with a fictional portuguese musician. Each poster is a graphic decomposition that represents each artist and his / her music style. Note that all the posters are concepts / proposals.

Ana Gomes, Fado Singer
The main elements on this poster are the twelve strings that represent the exact number of strings that come from the portuguese guitar. These strings create a ‘web’ of support for the letters. The background of the poster is very dark to communicate the intimacy and the darkness of the stage where the artist performs.

Raquel Esteves, Fado Singer
For this poster I decided to do a decomposition of the elements that are on a fado concert. The portuguese guitar is represented by the thin lines and grey circles, the light that is falling on the fado singer is communicated by the yellow triangles and the stage is represented by the dark blue rectangle.

Typeface: Futura LT

Moximilar, DJ
In this poster I wanted to communicate the electronic music that this artist plays and the colourful lights that is possible to find in the environment of a night club by drawing circles in different sizes in a shape of a vinyl. I kept a minimal grid with the right amount of white text to stand out on the black background.

Typeface: Gotham Bold

Raul Pinto, Pianist
In this poster I wanted to communicate the rhythm of the music by putting the piano keyboards on different levels. The use of black and white is related with the colours of the piano and also because these colours make the poster pop-out.

Typeface: Brandon Grotesque

Before Yourself, Indie Rock
As I wanted to create some impact in this work, I designed a minimalist poster where the major two initials 'B' and 'Y' are the main elements. These elements are in red to communicate the energy of the band.

Typeface: Avenir

Disclaimer: All these posters are concepts / proposals. Names, businesses, places and events are either the products of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

Thanks for watching!
