The Rabbit & The Rain

This project was developed during my Master Degree at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (University of Dundee).

The story was developed by myself, based on common elements of traditional scottish tales.
Like most stories for children the message is quite simple but hopefully will help them in the difficult process of growing up. There is a rabbit who is afraid of the rain, a squirrel who was in fact a bewitch man, and the will of these two friends to share and help each other face their fears.

It was my first complete animation, so I tried to explore a bit of everything - texturing, lightning, 2D, 3D.. I believe the mixture turned out quite well, so I hope you enjoy it!
Scroll down to see some images of the creation process, like storyboard, puppets, sketches, etc.
These Photshop paintings were my first atempt to see how the world that only existed in my head, would actually fit together, colors, textures, the characters and the elements for the background.
Since I wanted to have a cut up feeling in the animation, the storyboard was all done by cutting paper.
