The Oldest Building in Albany

Public Awareness Project: 48 Hudson—Albany's Oldest Building
The 18th century home is protected by large sheets of metal siding, hiding the
original wood frame from pedestrians. With the installation of a life-size scrim,
passers-by get a glimpse at what the house looked like nearly 300 years ago.
The scrim, which measures over 26' tall, was vetted
by local historians to ensure historical accuracy.
A promotional billboard faces Broadway, a busy pedestrian street, inviting
the public to come see the scrim and accompanying information panel.
An educational panel to the side of the house
rendering with details about the building's history.
