This 22-square-metre apartment in the centre of Kiev is a bright example of a multifunctional design. The designer managed to arrange a fully-equipped comfortable dwelling for a low budget daily rent fitting into a modest budget. The apartment has been totally replanned, more light and warmth were brought in due to enlarged windows and a vivid optimist yellow colour put on walls and accessories. The small interior nevertheless allowed a working zone – the windowsill with a console which also became a place for eating, a relaxing zone on the balcony, storing space and a cozy bathroom. The bathroom was enlarged as much as possible (from 0,7 х 1,4 m to 1,2 х 2,5 m!) to include a shower cabin, a washstand and a wall-hung water closet (with a small storing unit above it). The apartment finally got a real kitchen. The wall with a TV is a smart construction: from one side it allows a comfortable TV zone, from the other it holds the back of the built-in closet of the lobby, and finally it hides the working process in the kitchen which is not necessary to observe from the living room. By the way, despite its tiny size, the kitchen is fully equipped, comprising a refrigerator, a cooking area, a dishwasher and a washing machine. This project is an example of a compact multifunctional design.
