"Mobile oxygen for people with lung diseases" is my final thesis in collaboration with Oxycare and Designit Munich
Aero is an oxygen concentrator primarily designed for mobile use. It helps people with lung defects to constantly supply their body with oxygen. Aero’s social and stigma-free design allows the patient to feel comfortable and free in public.
The concentrator comes with a backpack with which one control the oxygen concentrator through an integrated remote control. The tube is hidden in the arm of the backpack.
I analyzed two already existing and bestselling mobile concentrators for four weeks. Besides ergonomic and handling issues, the most important insight was that the biggest problem for the user is the exposure to public as a seriously ill person.
