Alumni of Portland-based training center
set to face off in game at Sea Dogs Stadium

UMaine versus Boston College, 6PM, Tuesday, May 15 th
proof that local athletic training/life mentoring programworks

(Portland ME) – The Edge Academy(formerly known as The Maine Baseball and Softball Academy) is pleased toreport that locally-grown baseball players continue to score big at the collegelevel. To prove the point, on Tuesday, May 15 th at 6PM, team Universityof Maine will meet Boston College on the Sea Dogs’ Hadlock Field. Rosters forboth teams include recent graduates of the programs and travel teams atPortland’s own Edge Academy Baseball and Softball Training Center.

Playing for the University of Maineteam are Sam Balzano, an outfielder from DeeringHigh School; and Scott Heath, a LHP/out ielder from Westbrook; Robbie Trask, an infielder from Thornton Academy; Steve Trask, an outfielder from Thornton Academy; and Lucas Morrill, aninfielder from Rockland High School.

The Boston College 2012 team includesMatt Watson (Pare), a catcher from DeeringHigh School; and Nick Colucci, an infielder from Deering High School.

Additionally, the following recent gradsof The Edge Academy will begin their college careers at Boston College thisfall: Joe Cronin, a RHP/infielder from ScarboroughHigh School; and Luke Fernandes, a RHP/infielder from Marshwood High School.

“Whetherthey attended our summer camp, played for our College PREP High School travelteam, or took individual lessons with our staff, these fine athletes representsome of the best of our recent graduates,” confirmed Nick Caiazzo, co-Owner,Director of Baseball Operations and Staff/Player Development at The Edge Academy. “Weall take great pride in seeing them move on to the college level, and expectthem to do great things there. The sky is the limit for these fine youngpeople. Our staff will join their families on game night in Portland to cheerthem on, and we hope our wider community will join us.”
