This was a fun one. The client, Type A Press, asked that I come up with an alien that she could use for the McMinnville, Or., UFO Festival. So the story goes, in 1950 a family of farmers saw a UFO over their farm. They captured two photographs of the disc, these photos not only captured the attention of the town, but the nation, thanks to Life magazine publishing them.  

I imagined what a farmer with nil to basic drawing skills might have drawn had the encounter with the object had progressed into an encounter with the beings piloting the object.  I rounded out the design with the name of the town and state in an "alien" looking lettering style.
