A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a whimsical farce set in ancient Rome. From Slaves to Courteseans and Captains this design needed to reflect the playful nature of the story. Keeping color relationships tight to show different groups as units was a primary goal of the design. Social structure was shown through the use of fabric quality and costume construction. The Courteseans were to reflect a variety of ethnicities while still retaining some unifying characteristics through their costuming.
