This is a magazine spread I worked on for a Typography class I took at Pratt institute. The goal of the project was to design a full-bleed magazine spread in the style of Fabien Baron, with a photograph on one page and type on the adjacent page. I chose a photograph of Edie Sedgwick, one of Andy Warhol's most renowned "superstars," taken by Fred Eberstadt for Vogue magazine. Since she exuded a very glamorous aura, I paired a bold and cheeky typeface to convey this feeling. Additionally, to add a sense of sophistication, I set the color of the type to be a dark charcoal and chose a subdued gold tone for the "d" just enough to make it pop without being overbearing.
