Salone del Mobile: DeLightFuL – Essential Spaces

DeLightFul – Graphic identity for a design exhibition
Simone Ciarmoli and Miguel Queda asked us to design the identity for the exhibition DeLightFuL (Design, Light, Future Living) they curated in Milano Rho Fiera during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2017. They asked for a logo with an architectural vibe and a reference to light and a sense of delightfulness. We designed a display logo playing with black and white to create letters that are both solid and airy, rigorously imaginative.
And we created a solid version for the smaller sizes
We realized a slideshow to promote the exhibition both online and in a presentation tour around Europe.
The goal was to convey the spirit of the exhibition when no visual content had been produced yet, so we went into a massive image search and chose to juxtapose a lot of pictures at a very fast pace with a slow and minimal yet intense piano composition by Arvo Part to reach the effect of an animated emotional moodboard.
The teaser was edited in three slightly different versions for the three cities in which it was presented: London, Paris and Hamburg. This is the Paris version:

A short movie by Matteo Garrone accompanied the exhibition (we designed the titles).
We incorporated the set photos into the slideshow to develop a 1:30 version that finally revealed some of the design pieces that were going to be shown.
This version served as a promotional tool and as a visual during the exhibition:

The most meaningful image we selected for the teaser became the key of the identity of the exhibition.
We also edited a series of nine short clips for their social media channels. Each one presented an objects designed by CQS studio designed for the exhibition. Here are three of them:

The square images were rearranged to adapt to the many display and advertising formats.
