Nihonji Temple is located in the mountains near Kanaya Port, Chiba prefecture. It has one of the largest Buddha statue, which is about 30 meters tall, double the size of the one at Todaiji Temple in Nara prefecture. The more impressive thing about this temple is that it has 1,500 statues of arhats. Most of them have been decayed or lost their heads. Still, it is a great experience to see a different expression and pose of each statue walking in the green.
