Lomography In India

For my Major Studio Project, which was my Degree project, I decided to work on something that would use my love of photography as a subject in a less traditional way.

I chose to look at an analogue photography company and find ways for it to expand its market to India, by creating branding and a camera solely for the Indian market.

The project was completed over 6 months, with the first 3 months being used for research, the following 2 months were spent in conceptualizing and designing the project. The last month was used for documentation and to create a book about the project.
Above are options created for the logo as well as the final selected logo.

After the logo was created, sample cards for the staff of the company were created.

Since the company is an analogue camera company, the use of the shape of film rolls made for an interesting design element.

Considering the nature of today's fast-paced world, an iPhone application was conceptualized. This App makes use of the GPS services offered and locates the nearest stores that retail film rolls and also helps you find places that develop the film rolls as well.

This was followed by the creation of a special edition of the Diana F+ camera which is produced by the company. This special edition camera aimed to capture the eye of young creative photographers in the country and also uses a specially created Indian motif in the design.

A service to print your pictures as postcards to mail to your loved ones was also conceptualized, and this furthered the feeling of doing something analogue in todays fast paced world.
