H O M O
I’ve never viewed my sexuality as a particularly defining aspect of my life.
But in reality it has played a large part in making me who I am.
"HOMO", began as a collaboration with my exes (unbeknownst to them) as a way of reflecting on my past. It has since evolved into a diary/commentary of both my personal sexuality and the wider LGBTQIA community and culture.
Due to the intimate nature of the contents I decided that the zines will only be allowed to be viewed by myself, hence the censored text in the displayed spreads. The zines act as a retrospective medium for me to openly and unapologetically express my sexual identity, through it I have grown to truly and fully embrace my sexuality.

"Together Alone", is a letter outlining my sexual identity journey created as an alternative form of coming out to my family, namely my dad. There are 18 postcard-like components of this piece, each with a single line from the letter.
It began as a response to the essay of the same name "Together Alone: The Epidemic of Gay Loneliness" by Michael Hobbes, which had a profound emotional impact on me. I resonated deeply with it and it provoked me to develop something which may have been incredibly painful and nerve wracking to produce at the time but ultimately rewarding in retrospect.
