Registers of Scotland. Crofting Commission.
Registers of Scotland (RoS) is the non-ministerial government department responsible for compiling and maintaining 18 public registers. These relate to land, property, and other legal documents. The non-ministerial condition responds to a self funding system, independent from the main Scottish Government. Hence the existence of a communications department with a client focused approach.
The context in which I started to be involved as part of the comms department is crucial: RoS is the oldest land register in the world in it's 400th anniversary (1617). There was full digital transformation process due to 2020, in an attempt to "make our services greener, faster and more efficient than ever before", and a new branding was designed prior to my incorporation. A growing and morphing titan.
In this situation, my perspective of the company visual needs and the existing solution was slightly different, so I was able to use the given branding design with a different approach as long as the main pillars were respected and remain recognizable as the same brand.
