BACKGROUND AND CHALLENGES
User and user-group management is part of BECKON data management and governance. Enterprise users, in particular, need a way to create and assign specific roles and permissions to the teammates. This project is to build the user and user-group management from scratch. Expecting out come is users will have more control over who has access to what, and a good overview of team members' permissions.
SOLUTIONS
• An easy way to create a user and assign to group(s) as part of a certain workflow
• Bulk actions such as select multiple users to edit their permissions
• Display permissions per user with the groups
PROCESS
• I interviewed our customers who have requested the feature to learn more about why they needed the feature and how they would use it. Also, I researched on other tools that do user management well.
• Multiple rounds of testing and collecting feedback from low-fidelity mocks
• Created visual specs and clickable prototype with very detailed interaction specs since this project was the first to introduce 'bulk actions' for table
• QA before launch
