IU Beekeeping Club Community Artifact
After researching the IU Beekeeping Club for the semester, I designed this artifact to solve an issue within the club. Having focused on the club's historical consciousness throughout my research, I wanted to create something that would serve as a demonstration tool for a meeting and would allow new members to learn about the history and legacy of the club as well as about beekeeping. This piece was laser-cut and etched. Each layer of the beehive replica contains four information cards, two about the club and two about beekeeping, which hang like the frames inside a beehive would. The layers are held together by small magnets and each of the levels is color coded to the cards inside.
