The tragedy at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007 left many grieving hearts. This postcard series was created to remember the lives of those who passed away on that day. I researched the victims' lives to discover a memorable trait or quirk that could be illustrated and remembered. Delving into folk art, I utilized textured, colored papers that were cut or torn to create the images. Each postcard honors the beautiful life of one of the victims in hope of bringing a smile to those who loved them.
