In 2009, I was hired to translate drawings by students at Lawton Elementary in Seattle into 18 mosaic panels to liven up the walls flanking the stage in the auditorium.  Each individual panel is 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet, with nine on each side of the stage.  Contributing artists ranged in age from Kindergarten to 5th grade, and I projected the drawings onto the panels in order to maintain the design as closely as possible to the original. 

The panels have grout lines that continue from one to the next, so they connect together, like a puzzle.
