A quick flyer design for my friend's Cleveland-area pop-punk band, Varsity Pinball, who opened for touring NYC band Worriers in August 2017.
The concept initially sprang from a series of vintage photographs depicting a woman practicing self-defense moves on an overzealous police officer. The font choices and general aesthetic, evoking finding old filmstrips or photographic plates, sprang naturally from the time period and generally progressive, feminist stance of the bands involved.
The flyer posted on the bulletin board of a Cleveland-area record shop.
