[Gallery Story]
Just like the intense shade of red it takes its name from, Rosso Cinabro represents an extraordinary passion for art. Thanks to the guidance of its director Cristina Madini, over the years Rosso Cinabro has become a flower – albeit still somewhat niche – in the direct vicinity of the beautiful Villa Borghese. Opened in 2009, RossoCinabro is committed to making art accessible. The gallery has organised over 100 exhibitions in the past four years, from solo shows of interesting artists from abroad to collective exhibitions of 22up-and-coming local creatives.

14 - 31 October 2017

This October the permanent collection returns to the RossoCinabro Gallery with a dynamic new presentation of 40 works from all world. The exhibition includes iconic favorites alongside new acquisitions, which will be displayed at the RossoCinabro for the first time. Cristina Madini and Joe Hansen Curators, selected the works and conceived the presentation. The exhibition does away with hierarchical distinctions and the idea of the curator’s voice as absolute authority, instead presenting works that engender ever-evolving associations and interpretations. The works are loosely thematically organized to mimic an analog version of the Web, using an associative approach derived from the way we navigate today’s “hyperlinked” world. Visitors are encouraged to find their own path through a network of possibilities that highlight explicit connections as well as subtle, unexpected resonances among the artworks on view. Each artwork tells many stories, and each is made even more interesting through relationships to other works and ideas. As those works continues to develop meanings and spawn questions through contact with other artworks, it remains vital in a changing world.

Artisti: Renate Anding, Dina Babay, Annamaria Biagini, Helga Borbás, Elda Calabrese, Daniele Calvani, Alan Cariddi, Laura Casini, Cecily, Celina, Dino Coffani, EDMX Montanari, Giovanna Fabretti, Francesca Guetta, Jaanz Lynn, Osamu Jinguji, Hiroshi Kawazumi, Agnieszka Konopka, Mirella La Rosa, Lady Yupiigold, Sybille Lampe, Lisa J Levasseur, LEX, Giacoma Lo Coco, Vincenzo Messina, Elvio Miressi, Päivyt Niemeläinen, Anja Stella Ólafsdóttir, Vilma Panula, Daniela Rebecchi, Elke Reis, Rizza Boo, Christina Steinwendtner, Inga Svanberg, Linda Syvertsen, Gitana Vaicyte, Martina Volandri, Anouk Wolse, Yalim Yildirim, Derya Yilmaz, Ziba Moasser a cura di Cristina Madini e Joe Hansen

ROSSOCINABRO and MARIC (Artistic Movement for the Recovery of Cultural Identities http://www.movimentomaric.it/index.html) present in the Exhibition Halls of the Elsa Morante Library of Rome the exhibition CO-EXISTENCE. It is not only the annual anniversary of the month dedicated to Multicultura to shed light on the vitality, strength and fantasy of our time. The exhibition in question will be a real concert, which will involve artists of various nationalities aimed at living and capturing the glances on their own nomadist thinking, on coexistences and slips; all implemented with different techniques, and that in the spirit of these find the reason for unity. It is clear that the coexistence of various artistic languages that are correlated, interpenetrate and integrate, it becomes an important parameter in the comprehension and evaluation of artistic expressions of different cultural realities as a tool able to provide a unitary reading key. Attention to different languages, knowledge and exchange with others find concrete ways and privileged channels of realization precisely in artistic and expressive languages. Towards this conciliatory direction, therefore, we must read the metamorphic capacity of art, ever more tending to plumb the dynamics and alternating coexistence of oppositional systems with respect and recognition of alterity that struggles and requires more mature reflection. To aspire to start and to promote, step by step, the search for a common reason, can in fact give an account of new possibilities for comparison and cultural growth.

Dal al Rossocinabro presents 'Moving Ideas'. What is Moving ideas? The desire to share a journey in the contemporary, without forcing a univocal reading. The desire to create a dialogue with visitors, a continuous comparison, without embalming the works in a reading that remains unchanged. A "work in progress", because we intend in the future to continue to welcome and witness the new paths that today's art is expressing in its evolution, paths that oblige artists to compete with new points of view, with new materials, with new mental processes, with the sense of a society in which the speed of change does not allow slower rhythms of reflection on reality.

Works from China, Japan, Turkey, Israel, Australia, Central America, the USA and Canada and Europe, the 30 artists have chosen Rome as a place to exhibit their works above all as a point of meeting for dialogue and comparison of their art.
Being different is the best way to be unique. Uniqueness should be our aspiration and to achieve it we should use our creativity.

The exhibition enhances this uniqueness and the identity diversity of contemporary art. The exhibition, which Rossocinabro will open to the public on Monday 21 May at 11 am in the Rome area in Via Raffaele Cadorna 28, will be structured in several contemporary and synergistic moments, all aimed at making known, to the public, the techniques and the poetics of the various artistic representations. 40 works will be exhibited including paintings, sculptures, photographs and drawings. "There is not a minimum common denominator, because we have not looked for it" - explains the curator and organizer of the exhibition Joe Hansen - "will be, therefore, that analyze and present the various aspects of contemporary art, highlighting, the role of artistic value linked to the uniqueness and originality of each of the various and all equally possible readings that are given to the original work ". The exhibition will be open until May 31st from Monday to Friday from 11am to 7pm

from June 15 to 30 2018

It’s a display of mostly gallery artists, perfunctorily titled 'Working, Thinking, Seeing' and hung without an apparent organizing principle. There isn’t even an official closing date. Once you’ve settled into the exhibition, however, the vagaries of the arrangement quickly turn into a kind of energizing force, as each distinctly different artwork thrusts its elbows in the direction of its neighbors, some more insistently than others. The difference between the works is very evidence. But so the exhibition goes, with tone shifts tallying more disparate than harmonious moments, but the innate handsomeness of each piece — there is a masterful sense of polish evident everywhere, even in the most emotionally raw works — transforms disjointedness into surprise. 'Working, Thinking, Seeing' group show continues at Rossocinabro (Via Raffaele Cadorna 28, Roma) for a few more weeks. Please contact the gallery at 06 60658125 for more specific information.

Now in its 4th edition, the exhibition in question will be a real concert, which will involve artists of various nationalities aimed at living and capturing the glances on their own nomadist thinking, on coexistences and slips; all implemented with different techniques, and that in the spirit of these find the reason for unity. It is evident that the coexistence of various artistic languages that are correlated, interpenetrate and integrate, becomes an important parameter in the comprehension and evaluation of artistic expressions of different cultural realities as a tool able to provide a unitary reading key. Attention to different languages, knowledge and exchange with others find concrete ways and privileged channels of realization precisely in artistic and expressive languages. Towards this conciliatory direction, therefore, we must read the metamorphic capacity of art, ever more tended to fathom in the dynamics and alternating coexistence of oppositional systems the respect and recognition of alterity that struggles and requires a more mature reflection. To aspire to start and to promote, step by step, the search for a common reason, can in fact give an account of new possibilities for comparison and cultural growth.

Working, Thinking, Seeing
from 15 to 31 Aug 2018

It’s a display of mostly gallery artists, perfunctorily titled ‘Working, Thinking, Seeing’ and hung without an apparent organizing principle. 'Working, Thinking, Seeing’ group show continues at Rossocinabro (Via Raffaele Cadorna 28, Roma) for a few more weeks. Please contact the gallery at 06 60658125 for more specific information.

Cultural differences
17 settembre - 5 ottobre, 2018

Rome: Rossocinabro is pleased to present a group exhibition entitled “Cultural Differences”.

The show opens September 17th and continues through October 5th, 2018. In celebration, a reception will be held on Monday, September 17th, 5-7 pm

The choice of the title for this exhibit is curiously interesting. For these artists, the concept of Cultural Differences arose from of their idea of personal knowledge and their realization about the nature of differences between each of us.

The concept of Cultural Differences is a pure illusion. In their search for their cultural identities, I saw the absurdity of trying to describe a spiritual human in short sentences. These artists discovered the new exciting way of expressing their self through art.

The Art gives them the freedom to choose their ways to deliver their message. Freedom of artistic expression will no more be restrained by logic it will convey our meaning or thought.

Only with respect to the Cultural uniqueness of every human can we discover true answers to core questions of our life, see the much greater truth about other people, cultures, and even about ourselves.

We hope that you will be able to meet these works of fascinating artists and share their visions of the future of respect to our cultural uniqueness seen behind doors of Cultural Differences. They come from: Europe, USA, Japan, Australia, China, Center and South America, Canada

(No obvious unifying theme)
October 13 - 19, 2018

An international selection of about 30 works by contemporary artists, permanently in the Rossocinabro Gallery, painting, sculpture and mixed technique, with particular attention to the craft of making art.

Rossocinabro presents on the occasion of the XIV Contemporary AMACI Day, a new important exhibition with about thirty recent works by contemporary artists. The title ‘No obvious unifying theme’ refers to the status of artists in the mainstream art world - while the group is largely unknown, their respective practices are greatly admired by their peers, the works deal with a myriad of topics that concern the visual conditions of contemporary life, such as the exponential flow of images, the representation of the body in the Internet age and the ethics of vision with respect to voyeurism. These artists are not afraid to explore new media in stimulating ways, and each pursues a highly individualized practice.

They are an apparently disparate group, but together they reflect the diversity and breadth of contemporary art in a globalized and increasingly digital era. While the exhibition does not offer an obvious unifying theme or an ideological point of view, it presents to the public a group of artists worthy of a broader consideration.

Artists: Janice Alamanou, Jonathan Alfaro, Maria De Vido, Jari Di Giampietro, Onno Dröge, Eivor Ewalds, Ana Paola González, Linda Grool, Gul Durmayaz Guducu, Andreina Guerrieri, Sabine Heetebrij, Gary Hopkins, Osamu Jinguji, Stefanie Kamrath, Aleksandra Kosoń , Joanna Konstantinou, Judy Lange, Lisa J Levasseur, LiV, Stjepko Mamic, Walter Marin, Alexandra Mekhanik, Mikesch, Elvio Miressi, Paris Leroy, Irena Procházková, Daniela Rebecchi, Sandra Schawalder, Shigeru K, Gladys Sica, Ildikó Terebesi, Anthony Vella
