How men’s swimwear changed over 50 years
According to fashion encyclopedia, men’s swimwear has gone through various and drastic changes over the years before getting to where it is today. In the 1960s, men fully embraced the transformation in fashion and it cut through even the bathing suits for them look a little different from the usual bathing suit of early 1900. Back then, it was illegal for men to walk around the pools or beaches without shirts. However, after the law adjustment in the 1930s men started embracing the new culture and they seemed to enjoy everything about the new fashion as they completely bypassed the use of tops while swimming.

They got tighter and shorter
Between the 1060s and 70s, men swimwear become tighter and shorter. By this time, men were free to show part of their thighs and still feel confident. You would meet men by the pools with short shorts while other would even go with their underwear. This was to give them the freedom to swim without the fear of the costume material. However, with a tighter and shorter wear, it was easy to enjoy the taste of the waters every time of the day or night.
The fabric that was used to design the swimwear then, was quick drying material, therefore; it would be easy to walk around without spreading water with every step especially if you are right to form the pool. However, this culture was quickly replaced in the following decade by a roomier pair of boxers. The introduction of boxers by the beach becomes the trending style for men of the 80s and early 90s.

Once again, in the swimwear started to retrieve steps towards the former wear. You would meet men in the 90s wearing almost the same swimwear that the 1930 men had. The costumes were a little shorter and almost the same size to the underwear. It was not a wonder to see men back then swimming in their underwear’s as the trend was becoming almost too nude.

Sport influence
However, as time proceeded, and swimming was gaining ground in the sporting arena, the men swimwear changed again to ensure that the sportsmen are decent while displaying their skills in the swimming industry.   Although the costume was based on the current trends, still the swimmer interests were observed to ensure they are comfortable with swimwear that gave the completion its bath.

Technological effects
With the embrace of technology and different cultures, the mens swimwear did not stop evolving there, but rather t changed again to another level. In 2000, the swimwear was funkier with interesting hems and bold colors. With the technology taking its cause in almost every aspect of life, the fashion industry has been evolving to meet the demands of the consumers. Today, you will meet men in their semi-tight boxers as their swimwear. This is almost the same type of costume that was used in the 1970s although the prints are a little different to fit in the current trends of technology.
