I used Photoshop to re-imagine Edvard Munch's The Scream for the Adobe 5th Scream #MunchContest

Frequently when I see this image contextualized in modern media (like when it's referenced on television and such), it focuses very heavily on the figure and the figure's open mouth, often so that it seems that they're the source of the scream. You can imagine then that I was wildly surprised when I learned about the actual creation of the painting, that the figure was hearing the scream, rather than creating it! It's one of my favorite little art history tidbits to share with people now.

I wanted to see if, by turning the figure around and having the view hover just over the brim of his two withdrawing friends, if I could try and re-describe the moment—if I could try to show the nature's mouthless scream!

It was an incredibly fun project, which pushed me far outside of my usual path, and I'm glad to have participated, and I'm glad to have learned these brushes!
