This is my entry into the Adobe 5th Scream Contest #MunchContest
It was quite fun to paint with the offered "Edvard Munch Brushes" and some of my favorite Kyle Brushes I have already.During research I learned, that Munch played with the topic of fear in his painting The Scream. Fear of the things behind you and the things you haven't noticed yet. The cut caused by the balustrade in the back is the actual scream, experts say.
So my idea was to play with this cut...
The red dress I am wearing and displacing of the whole body exaggerates the screaming as well as the crazy hair. As my background is from the moving image, I wanted to have a lot of movement in the painting as well, so the background blends with the foreground and blurs the edges in one big sweep.
